Plays, musical theatre, contemporary circus, and so much more – Fonds Darstellende Künste supported around 25 “laboratories” in various genres throughout the independent performing arts in 2022. The documentary film Dennoch! – Zur Lage der Freien Künste offers a portrait of the work and the exploration in those laboratories – in times of crisis and societal transformation.

Many of the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf graduates are highly regarded – in Germany and throughout the world. During the so-called “Rundgänge” tours, the students show their final works each year. For this winter’s “Rundgang”, Professor Lena Newton’s stage design class guests at the FFT.
