Magda Szpecht

She stands in the Middle of The Battlefield

as part of Impulse Festival 2026
Performance

Why does a Ukrainian artist decide to become a soldier? Polish theatre director Magda Szpecht searches for words and images to describe the feeling of seeing a friend and sister go to war – and yet still wanting to support her. Based on letters, voice messages, chats, videos and research material, what emerges is a multi-layered portrait of the everyday life of a Ukrainian theatre-maker at war.

19:30

Opening Impulse Festival 2026

as part of Impulse Festival 2026
Festival Opening

The opening takes place within the installative setting of Dávid Koronczi’s dinner performance „BRUCHOVRAVY,“ thus creating, from the outset, a space between encounter, atmosphere and artistic practice.

TOIL

as part of Impulse Festival 2026
Dance

In “TOIL”, Northern Irish choreographer Sheena McGrandles investigates the dancing body at work – torn between alienation and desire, routine and rebellion. 18:00

Veza Fernández

Chantal, the body is a text longing for perspective

as part of Impulse Festival 2026
Dance-Performance

A living anatomical doll dissects itself with words in order to constantly renegotiate bodily boundaries: the unlikely intersection between lesbian* verbal intimacies, colonial-patriarchal medical history and performance art.

20:30

Nature Theater of Oklahoma

Pizza Oder eine Tür in der Dunkelheit tanzt Nicht

(Pizza Or a Door That Doesn't Dance in the Dark)
as part of Impulse Festival 2026
Performance

On stage, a word- and melody-rich play unfolds that is somewhere between chamber opera and impossible choreography, between pizza party and the afterlife. It all starts innocently enough, but when a guest reveals that they are dying of a strange illness and disappears from the party, a portal opens to the world of the (possibly) dead and undead who still have scores to settle and questions that demand answers in this world.
