Apparatus leaves political realism behind and rejoices in a celebration of contemporaneity experienced. A collective of artists from dance, performance, music and visual arts assemble for a magical ritual. The theater becomes a chamber of wonders – a space of experience and of the momentary. Attending are dramaturge Stefanie Wenner and performer Thorsten Eibeler, as well as director Ariel Efraim Ashbel, choreographer Kareth Schaffer and the exceptional musicians Colin Hacklander and Farahnaz Hattam.

”THEATER AND MAGIC” | Lectures and Discussion

(...) a shamanistic-reflexive art evening, which captivates just as much, as it suspends any hasty assumptions.
Berliner Zeitung, 29.10.16

apparatus was founded by Thorsten Eibeler and Stefanie Wenner in early 2015 for their shared projects at the interface of art and science. The goal is a better representation of reality. For every project, apparatus assembles a different constellation of human and non-human collaborators into a temporary collective. Stefanie Wenner has a doctorate in philosophy and has worked as a curator e.g. at the HAU and for the Impulse Theater Festival. She is currently professor for Applied Theater Studies at the HfBK Dresden. Thorsten Eibeler studied German Literature, Philosophy and Applied Theater Studies in Gießen and is a founding member of the theater collective Showcase Beat Le Mot.
